He scaled mountains, sang out of tune, and changed lives forever—now his story climbs to the stage in FRASSATI.
Experience the remarkable life of Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati like never before in this critically acclaimed stage production by Minneapolis-based playwright Jeremy Stanbary. Frassati offers audiences of all ages a chance to encounter a life of radical faith, boundless joy, and spiritual heroism.
Born into privilege but drawn to the poor, Pier Giorgio Frassati defied expectations. An avid mountaineer, university student, political activist, and servant of the marginalized, he lived fully, passionately, and faithfully before succumbing to polio in 1925 at just 24 years old. At his funeral, thousands—many of them the poor and marginalized he had quietly served—poured into the streets, revealing a legacy far more profound than anyone had imagined.
Described more as a “spiritual biographical drama” than a strictly historical one, Frassati goes beyond the historical retelling to unveil the enduring spiritual truths of his life. In a world wrestling with division, disillusionment, and despair, Pier Giorgio Frassati stands as a beacon of joyful defiance against the darkness—a man who embodied the paradox of the Gospel: “Whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.”
Audiences will be moved, challenged, and inspired by this stirring production that celebrates a life marked not by earthly triumph, but by self-giving love, contagious joy, and unwavering conviction. Whether you’re encountering Saint Frassati for the first time or returning to his story with fresh eyes, this play is a timely reminder of the greatness each of us is called to pursue.
Don’t miss your chance to witness this unforgettable portrayal of a modern-day saint! Frassati is more than a play; it’s a call to holiness.
This show is a co-production with Open Window Theatre.
